Dear fellow basketball fans,
My husband and I have been welcomed with open arms since we have been in Groningen. I’m proud of Henry for being a part of such an impressive basketball club, and we’re really looking forward to the season.
It is a great opportunity being here, and I’m enjoying the adventure of living in a different country and culture.
While I am here, I would like to continue developing myself by getting work experience in the Groningen area. Back home in Calgary, I worked as full time geomatics/GIS consultant at an environmental consulting company. My main duties were data preparation, organization and analysis. I was also responsible for creating field and reporting maps, as well as some documentation. Before that, I played professional beach volleyball while working other jobs to support myself.
I am of course interested in working in my field, but am very open to working outside of my field as I feel any work experience is beneficial. I realize the job market is tough right now in the Netherlands, especially for a resident who is only beginning to learn the dutch language, but I do bear a EU passport since I was born in Poland. I am very motivated and willing to learn, and will try my best to better myself here.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.
Thank you in advance for any consideration and taking the time to read this. I’m really looking forward to our time in Groningen and being part of this community.
Sincerely yours,
Joanna Bekkering
